Pool Supervisor | Kaitiaki Hōpua Kaukau

All about the job

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced lifeguard who is ready to step into a leadership role in aquatics.

In this role you will:

  • actively supervise our poolside staff to ensure our pools are safe at all times
  • bring an engaging leadership style to work to positively motivate our poolside staff 
  • share our passion for providing an exceptional customer experience every time
  • provide a valued service to our community and the visitors to our city

All about you

It would be great if you hold a current first aid certificate and a National Lifeguards Award (pools). You will need to show us that you:

  • are highly motivated and super organised
  • are motivated by providing exceptional customer service to our community
  • can effectively lead others in an engaging way
  • are a strong swimmer and can maintain a suitable level of swimming fitness
  • will bring your initiative to work and enjoy rolling up your sleeves to get the job done

 You must also be able to:

  • pass a swimming competency test including swimming 200m in 6 minutes
  • pass Police Vetting under the Children’s Act 2014, and a pre-employment drug test.
  • obtain and maintain the National Lifeguard Award (Pools) (you must be 16 years or older)

The hours will be rostered on a monthly roster and will be a minimum of 36 hours per week. You must have availability to work any day of the week and weekend, including shifts starting at 5:00am and other shifts finishing at 10:00pm.
